Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was born of a poor family in
Kentucky of America. When he was a boy he worked on the farm with his father.
He had no time to go
to school. He had no money to buy books,
but yet he read many books borrowed from other. Many people who had kept books
were glad to lend their books to him. And so he could read a lot of books
himself, and learned very much.
By hard word
and hard study he became a great man, and did a great deal for his country.
Later on he was elected President of the United States of America. When he was
President, he set the slaves free and made the poor and the weak happy.
He loved all
the people, and he was loved by all the people.
